Craft beer, food, and live music rooted in Mammoth Lakes!

About Us

At Distant Brewing, we’re all about creating a place people want to come back to. Whether you’re rolling in after a day on the mountain or meeting up with friends, you’ll find a lineup of fresh craft beer, a full kitchen, and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.

Originally from the land of beers (San Diego), brothers Drew and Kirk Wallace have turned their dreams of brewing amazing beers into a reality here at Distant Brewing.  Armed with years of homebrewing experience and a hint of marketing know-how, the brothers turned an old Police Station into a unique brewery with tons of charm and allure.

Distant Brewing started construction in November of 2018 and opened to the public for the first time on December 23rd, 2019.  Finally in a space where the brothers could create new and exciting beers, Distant focuses on bringing a distinctive collection of beverages, food and good vibes to the west coast and Eastern Sierras with hopes to become one of the best breweries in Mammoth Lakes!

  • Tracked Out LIVE!

Distant Brewing 568 Old Mammoth Road, Mammoth Lakes, CA, United States

Tracked Out formed when Gibson Collins (a former Crowley resident and lead singer/guitarist) linked up with Mike Bizinski (a longtime June local and bassist) at the Bridgeport open mic while driving down to Mammoth to ski from his new home in Portland. A snowstorm shut down Highway 395 during that trip and Gibson got “stuck” at Mikey’s place. The two spent the week enjoying country club days at June Mountain, lapping the June area backcountry, and jamming out in the evenings after long days of powder skiing. At the beginning of that week, the two friends enjoyed fresh tracks. By the end of the week, everything was “Tracked Out”. When 395 finally reopened, they played a show together at Distant Brewing in Mammoth. Shortly afterwards Mikey brought Mammoth locals Jon Carlton (lead guitarist) and Andrew Jefferson (drums) into the fold and the band was complete. They’re a motley crew of ski bums that enjoy playing classic rock, folk, grunge, reggae, and more whenever Gibson can make the trip down to the Eastern Sierra.
